Steve Braceland, CEO of STJ Retail is re-elected to the board of IRUG International Retail User’s Group for another 2 years.


STJ initiated the IRUG’s EMV mobile payments steering committee. The Steering committee was established to recognize the landscape of retail payment technology and continues to evolve to serve IRUG members by helping provide valuable content in IRUG’s conferences and resource materials.

STJ Retail worked with IRUG on their road map for EMV and Mobile payments. This document has outlined the scope of an EMV payment deployment project and provided a list of tasks in order of implementation. Definitions are provided for each task, starting with the priority tasks that build the foundation for a successful EMV implementation.

The US migration to EMV has begun! Both Wal-Mart & Home Depot have announced plans to become EMV compliant. As one of the last countries to migrate, you are in an excellent position to take advantage of lessons learned in other migrations. HMV Canada and STJ Retail announced today the roll-out of PayPass and payWave contactless technology that helps Canadians save time at check-out and improve performance at HMV's 116 locations across the country.

This partnership allows customers to use their PayPass-enabled MasterCard, or payWave enabled Visa credit card or mobile phone to quickly and securely pay for their in-store purchases with a simple tap on a point-of-sale payment terminal.

This prestigious award was presented on June 23rd at an awards luncheon held during Cardware 2010, an electronic payment industry convention.
