Appaloosa In 1999 STJ Retail was engaged by Compaq Canada to provide a detailed map of the Canadian retail automation landscape. In completing this assignment STJ Retail came to recognize that the Canadian specialty and general merchandise retail sectors were under served, particularly in the area of store system software. After a comprehensive review of opportunities to become a valued-added reseller of existing store automation software packages for these sectors, STJ Retail made the decision in 2003 to develop its own application. Having made this decision STJ Retail then brought the industry’s leading software developer on board with the mandate to build the product and assemble the support team. The result, “Appaloosa”, is already being recognized as the next generation store automation solution.
